Beloved Nollywood actor Kolawole Ajeyemi has released his debut EP titled “My Life,” marking his entry into the Nigerian music scene. The two-track EP, featuring the lead single “Bamise,” has already garnered significant attention, with his wife and fellow actress Toyin Abraham leading the cheering squad.
On Thursday afternoon, Ajeyemi took to Instagram to announce the release of “Bamise,” the lead single from his EP. The post, which included a promotional poster and a snippet of the song, quickly went viral among his 1.2 million followers.
“Out now! Bamise EP by Ajeyemi: Now available on all platforms,” the actor-turned-singer declared, his excitement palpable even through the digital medium.
Toyin Abraham, Ajeyemi’s wife and a powerhouse in Nollywood herself, wasted no time in rallying support for her husband’s new venture. Sharing the announcement on her own Instagram page, which boasts 7.8 million followers, she wrote:
“Ati korin oooooo! Bamise is now on all platforms. Please kindly support us. Oko mi ti korin ooooo @kolawoleajeyemi, oshey, well done, baby.”
The couple’s public display of support touched fans, with Ajeyemi responding, “Love you babe,” further endearing them to their audience.
The EP “My Life” clocks in at 5 minutes and 18 seconds, featuring two tracks: “Bamise,” a collaboration with artist Sumphonia, and “Wokilu.” Music critic Adebola Oluwaseun notes, “For a debut, Ajeyemi shows promise. ‘Bamise’ in particular showcases his versatility as an artist.”
At 42, Kolawole Ajeyemi has already established himself as a respected figure in Nollywood. Hailing from Ogbomosho, Oyo State, he has worked alongside industry giants such as Femi Adebayo, Mide Martins, and Lateef Adedimeji.
