“Nigeria Police Force Announces Major Promotion For Junior Officers” The Hype Naija

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has approved the promotion of 10,581 junior officers. This decision underscores the leadership’s commitment to meritocracy and the career advancement of its personnel.

Breakdown of the Promotions:

  • Police Constables: A total of 9,831 constables are set to be elevated to the rank of Corporal.
  • Corporals: Eighty-one corporals will advance to the rank of Sergeant.
  • Sergeants: Six hundred and sixty-nine sergeants are promoted to the rank of Inspector.

The promotion process will be overseen by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration (DIG DFA), working closely with the Commissioner of Police (Welfare), to ensure the swift implementation of these promotions.
