Olanrewaju was handed the managerial role on an interim basis following the departure of Finidi George, who assumed the position of Super Eagles coach. Despite receiving offers from other clubs, including Rivers United where he was invited to join his former boss, the 32-year-old opted to remain with Enyimba, a testament to his commitment to the club.
