Osogbo, Osun State: A pall of despair descended upon Osogbo, Osun State’s capital, on Tuesday as news of multiple road accidents spread like wildfire. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the deaths of two individuals, with several others sustaining varying degrees of injuries.

The impact of the collision was, reportedly, severe. Three school children were among those injured, and tragically, one child succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The remaining injured were rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital Complex (UNIOSUTH) for treatment.
The driver of the commercial bus allegedly fled the scene after the accident, sparking outrage among onlookers. The FRSC Sector Commander for Osun State, Henry Benamaisia, condemned the driver’s actions and vowed to apprehend him.
“We are currently investigating the cause of the accident,” Benamaisia stated. “However, preliminary reports suggest that overspeeding might have been a contributing factor. We urge drivers to always adhere to traffic regulations and prioritize safety on the roads.”
