In a disturbing incident in Abuja, the leader of a notorious “one chance” robbery gang has been arrested following a brutal attack on a pregnant woman, which tragically resulted in her losing her pregnancy. The Nigerian Police acted swiftly, apprehending the suspect who has been known for his involvement in similar crimes across the city.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the arrest via his X account on Sunday, detailing the heinous act that has shocked the community. According to Adejobi, the suspect assaulted the woman with a wheel spanner, leading to a miscarriage. “This is a ring leader of one chance robbery gang in Abuja. He used this wheel spanner to beat a pregnant woman (one chance victim) until she had a miscarriage,” Adejobi posted.
The victim, who had been awaiting the joy of parenthood for over eight years, faced this brutal attack while commuting, a stark reminder of the dangers posed by “one chance” operations, where unsuspecting passengers are robbed and sometimes assaulted in private vehicles masquerading as public taxis.
