Ibadan, Oyo State – In a landmark event that underscores inter-state collaboration and visionary governance, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, alongside Anambra State’s Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has officially flagged off the construction of the 32.2 km South-East Wing of the ambitious 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road project. This momentous occasion, which took place on March 22, 2024, marks a significant milestone in the infrastructural development of Oyo State.
Governor Makinde, expressing his gratitude on social media, highlighted the completion of the earlier phases involving bridges and interchanges, signaling the steadfast progress of the comprehensive road project. Furthermore, Governor Soludo’s participation in the commissioning of junction improvements at Agodi Gate, Civic Centre, and Idi Ape, Ibadan, was commended by Governor Makinde, who noted the enhancements have notably reduced travel times and improved the overall traffic situation in the area.
During his speech at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Makinde eloquently articulated the importance of the Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road to the economic development of Oyo State. Breaking down the project into phases for efficient execution, he assured that the South-East and North-East wings would be completed within his tenure, contributing significantly to the state’s infrastructure landscape.
