Mount Zion Film Productions, although now synonymous with Christian cinema, faced initial setbacks that tested the faith and resolve of its members. Early film attempts like “Secrets of the Devil” faced hurdles that seemed insurmountable, leading to a temporary focus on stage ministrations across Nigeria.
The Catalyst of Change
The transformative moment came in 1990 with the drama ministration “The Unprofitable Servant.” Kayode Oyebode, from Kay Technical & Audio Visual Company, was invited to record the event, setting the stage for a partnership that would redefine Christian cinema in Nigeria. Oyebode, with his profound expertise in film production, proposed transitioning the drama into a television film, a suggestion that rekindled Mount Zion’s cinematic aspirations.
