The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident, which occurred around 4:10 PM near the popular Ita-Oshin area of Abeokuta, Ogun State. Spokesperson for the FRSC Ogun Sector Command, Mrs. Florence Okpe, attributed the cause of the accident to mechanical deficiency.
“The suspected cause of the crash was mechanical deficiency (brake failure),” Okpe stated. “The vehicle crashed on the road median and then went into flames.”
